And to those of us in the State of Hockey, we are glad to have Bruce Boudreau at the helm of the Wild ship.

Well hopefully Fletcher makes A LOT of moves this off season. Moving 1 or 2 players won't make a difference, we found that out the hard way with White and Hanzel, Cooke and Vanek. We make small moves that look great on paper, but seem to have very little effect on the overall outcome. This team needs a major make over. All these bright and upcoming stars (Coyle, Grandlund, Dumba, etc..) are just blending in now and filling in gaps but making no real TEAM differences. Time to rebuild

How is that trolling?

I've never really been impressed much with Boudreau and he seems to get the yips come playoff time.

I don't think I'd want him as my head coach. I'm glad you're happy with him.

As spastic as Tweaterben can be, I'm sure his point is that you're not a Wild fan so your point of view on who the Wild head coach is, is more or less irrelevant. (well at least in this blog)

However, first round bust or not, he did just bring this Wild team to their best regular season in franchise history, (cannot dispute that)and it could have been much more impressive had injuries/illnesses not came into play after the bye week as well as had Chuck decided NOT to pull the trigger on what amounted to a meaningless trade that virtually gave away a first round pick and very possibly degraded the overall chemistry of a team that was rolling.

But I digress... back to the point at hand, niether you nor your Blues mates make an appearance in Dan's blog unless it is in fact to troll. But hey, free country.

When the Duck players allude to Carlyle being a more composed coach, and a better in game strategist, it would suggest Boudreau isn't those things. So, saying it wasn't Boudreau may not be totally accurate. His teams have a habit of having a great regular season, and crapping the bed come playoff time. Happened in Washington, happened in Anaheim, and happened again in Minnesota.

Yes, the Ducks lost game 6 vs. Nashville. But they played a very good game (didn't crap the bed like previous years), and really could have pushed it to a game 7 with some puck luck. The Ducks have shaken the game 7 curse (for now anyways). The anchor Boudreau carries has only gotten heavier.

Everything if you must know.

This is where they learn to coach and then go get Cups everywhere else.

Scotty Bowman
Al Arbour
Jaques Demers
Joel Quenneville

That's like 17 cups right there.

Troll.

So they figure out how to win the cup elsewhere....?

Honestly, the playoffs are largely a crapshoot, especially when penalties aren't called like they're supposed to be.

The Mallards failed cuz they are just not good enough. In previous seasons, BB assured more talented team lost cuz he lost the matchup battle vs the other HC. Just hoping for the Wild's sake, they figure this out sooner, rather than later.

"It wasn't ONLY BB" would be a much more logical and arguable blog. No coach in NHL history has had as much regular season success combined with as little post-season success. It's just blatant homerism and wishful thinking pretending he has nothing to do with his own post-season record.

As a Preds fan I'm not sure if it is a coaching thing or not but I will say this. I have been a Preds fan, season ticket holder etc..since the Leipold days.
This is the first season where the Preds didn't do much at the trade deadline. They added a couple pieces just for depth purposes (Fiddler, Parentau) as to not mess with the chemistry. Next they threw Mike Ribero down to the AHL since he requested a trade and they couldn't find any takers. I think the locker room got a heck of a lot better. I don't know about the Wild but the key's to the Preds success I believe is in the above stated.

Stop it right now. Any fan with any other team affiliation that comes into a foreign blog is only here to troll.

At least according to the whopping two Minnesota Wild fans.

No criticizing of Bruce here.

But i agree. His negative playoff ju-ju rubs off on his players.

So was coach Q... until he went to the Hawks and won. Sometimes it just takes the right team for the right coach. The test is how have BB's teams fared after he's left? The Capitals haven't been any better or worse since him. Anaheim, no better or worse. What he was brought in to do was to get more offense out of the young guys and in that he was very successful. Reviving the corpse of Eric Staal was also spectacular. But any team relying on a cadre of mid thirties players to get them to the promised land is forever going to be disappointed. Until the leadership group changes along with some of the older guys stepping aside, it's going to be much the same here. 1st round or the occasional 2nd round exit. Regardless of who the coach is.
